Zidane: ‘It’s out of our hands but we can still win’

Madrid, May 15 (EFE).- Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said Saturday that his team is ready to give its all for the last two games of the LaLiga season.

Real could still be crowned champions, but they need to win both their remaining matches and Atletico de Madrid to drop points against either Osasuna or Valladolid.

“We arrive in very good condition after winning on Thursday (in Granada) with a great game, both in attack and defense. It helps me to think that we are ready for the last two rounds,” Zidane told a press conference on Saturday.

“We are going to give everything, 100%, and I have no doubts. Not everything is in our hands, but we know we can do it”, he said ahead of Real’s match at Athletic Bilbao.

He praised his squad for continuing to fight for the title to the wire despite nearing 60 injuries this season. “It’s the most difficult season, I’m very proud of the squad, of all the players. With everything that has happened to us, we have never stopped working thinking we could win things until the end. They are giving it their all.”

“Every year I have been proud, the players always want to compete, they like to play and train. Now even more so because we have had many difficulties, injuries and strange things this year. That’s why, that in the end they didn’t want to stop doing things well makes me prouder this year,” he added.

Zidane urged his players not to think about what Atlético de Madrid do and focus on winning their own games. “We have to look at what we can control, our match. The rest, we don’t know what is going to happen. The important thing is that we win the three points, that we compete against a very good opponent. We are going to give it our all”. EFE
