2 mosquitoes help Chinese police solve burglary case

Beijing, Jul 16 (EFE).- Two dead mosquitoes helped Chinese police solve a theft case after the alleged perpetrator’s blood was recovered from the insects through DNA tests.

The burglary took place on June 11 in an apartment in the southeastern Chinese city of Fuzhou, the Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post said citing a report by the local authorities.

Once inside the house, the burglar was bitten by two mosquitoes just after preparing himself a meal and before spending the night.

He ended up crushing the mosquitoes against the living room wall, leaving blood stains as well as their dead bodies, according to the official narrative.

The investigators deduced that it was the thief’s blood on the freshly painted walls.

The DNA test revealed that the blood belongs to a “known criminal” with the surname Chai who was arrested on June 30 and confessed to being responsible for the robbery. EFE
