After leak, Lady Gaga confirms ‘Chromatica’ to feature Blackpink

Los Angeles, US, Apr 22 (efe-epa).- After it was leaked online, Lady Gaga confirmed Wednesday the track listing for her sixth album “Chromatica,” which will include collaborations with K-pop girl band Blackpink, Ariana Grande and Elton John.

“Chromatica” was to be launched on Apr. 10 but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. A new release date has not been confirmed.

The announcement of the songs came hours after the supermarket chain Target, one of the largest in the US, published all the track titles on its website without notice, which caught the attention of followers. It has since been removed.

Track 10, “Sour Candy,” was recorded with the K-pop band Blackpink, consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, which has been popular not only in South Korea but the US with hits such as “Kill This Love” and “DDU-DU-DDU-DU.”

Excited fans of the band responded to Gaga’s Twitter post with many GIFS and comments such as “Lady gaga feat Blackpink Yasssss.”It was retweeted more than 53,300 times and liked 167,000 times.

Gaga’s song “Rain On Me,” featuring Ariana Grande, will be the fourth song on the album, while her collaboration with Elton John, “Sine From Above,” will be at number 14.

In addition, there are three compositions with the name of the album, “Cromatica,” distributed at the beginning, middle and towards the end of the album as parts “I,” “II” and “III.”

Gaga announced a few weeks ago her decision to postpone the release of the album due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the artist, the launch was going to be accompanied by “surprises,” such as a secret concert at Coachella, the spring festival that had to be postponed until autumn, like other concerts.

“This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic,” said the creator of hits such as “Bad Romance” and “Born This Way” at the time.

The first single from “Chromatica,” called “Stupid Love,” premiered in late February as the first original song that Gaga has released – except for the compositions for the movie “A Star is Born” – since her album “Joanne” (2016) and the first completely pop song since “Artpop” in 2013, after hits such as “Poker Face” and “Born This Way”.

At the weekend, Gaga organized with the World Health Organization and Global Citizen the solidarity concert One World: Together at Home, in which the Rolling Stones, Jennifer López, Paul McCartney, Elton John and Stevie Wonder, among others, performed from their homes, and more than $127 million was raised to fight the pandemic.
