Zelenskyy calls for unity as war enters its 600th day

Kyiv, Oct 16 (EFE).- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Ukraine and its allies to maintain “unity” and overcome “doubts” about the country’s ability to defeat Russia as the war entered its 600th day on Monday.

“The will that does not give up gains freedom. Freedom based on unity always prevails. The point is not to waste time. Not to lose unity. Not to let doubts corrode the will,” Zelenskyy said on his Telegram account.

The Ukrainian president thanked “everyone who fights and works for the freedom of Ukraine” and remember those “who gave their lives to preserve” the nation.

Zelenskyy called to continue destroying “the occupier” and “do everything possible to ensure that the future of Ukrainians belongs only to Ukrainians.”

“We will definitely be victorious,” he said.

With winter approaching, Ukraine has not progressed as expected in the counteroffensive launched in early June.

Kyiv is also facing waning support from hard-right Republicans in the United States, who managed to leave Ukraine aid out of the last budget extension approved in Congress.EFE
