Karol G, Grupo Firme, Yatra win big at Premio Lo Nuestro 2023

Miami, Feb 23 (EFE).- Grupo Firme, Karol G and Sebastián Yatra were the winners of the 35th edition of Premio Lo Nuestro, with the Mexicans winning six awards and the Colombians four each each, at a gala that also celebrated Ivy Queen, Victor Manuelle and the Intocable group.

Bad Bunny, Shakira, Daddy Yankee and Bizarrap were others who had a great night, winning three Lo Nuestro Awards each, in a three-hour show hosted by Yatra, Paulina Rubio, Alejandra Espinoza and Adrian Uribe.

Other artists with multiple medals were Christian Nodal, Maluma, Romeo Santos and Rauw Alejandro with two each.

“Un Verano Sin Ti” by Bad Bunny was the album of the year, while Karol G was awarded artist of the year.

The start of the ceremony, which took place at the Miami-Dade Arena, was in charge of Yatra, who was the most nominated. The Colombian artist premiered his song “Una noche sin pensar” live, accompanied by dancers and three-dimensional figures, in a powerful musical number.

Under the motto “the world is ours,” the 2023 Premio Lo Nuestro was awarded in 39 categories, an increase of seven compared to last year.

Grupo Firme made the audience vibrate with a double presentation by singing one of their songs and a highly applauded participation in the tribute to the Intocable group, in which Pepe Aguilar also participated.

Marc Anthony and Maluma, also with nine nominations, premiered their new salsa “La Fórmula” on television, in a presentation that began in black and white and exploded in colors when the key to this musical genre born in New York began to sound. EFE
