Madrid, Feb 8 (efe-epa).- Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane on Monday left his future with the Spanish powerhouse next season up in the air, although he made it clear he will not leave the club during the ongoing season.
“Why would I leave? It is amazing, I am doing what I like,” the Frenchman said during a presser ahead of a La Liga game against Getafe when asked about the matter.
“There are complicated moments in which you’re a little bit bruised, that’s life as a human, but we are going to fight, we can do good things with the squad we have,” he said. “Real Madrid is a great club that must always compete. There will always be changes here,” he added.
Every time he was asked whether he would continue as the Real Madrid coach next season, he answered with a smile without speaking his mind.
“I live day by day; I am interested in tomorrow’s game. Since I do not what is going to happen with the rest, I will not go beyond next game,” he added.
Zidane acknowledged that the club had supported him during challenging moments.
“We are in the same boat here, I feel everybody’s support. In the end, in football, we know what to do,” he said. “There are difficulties in a season; you have to accept when things are difficult and work on turning the situation around.
“We have a great team with important, very good players who have won a lot here. This should not prevent (us) from continuing to work hard,” he added. EFE-EPA
