Eagles of Death Metal leader says he forgives Bataclan attackers

Paris, May 17 (EFE).- Eagles of Death Metal lead singer Jesse Hughes on Tuesday said that he forgives the gunmen who broke into the US rock band’s concert at the Bataclan hall in Paris and killed 90 people nearly seven years ago.

“I’m a Christian and everyone can be lost and everyone needs to find the way and most of the gentlemen in there do, so I forgive them and I hope that they find the peace of God themselves,” Hughes told reporters.

Hughes and guitarist Eden Galindo arrived in Paris to testify at the trial of the 20 suspects in the November 13, 2015 attacks on Tuesday.

Hughes’ testimony lasted for about 10 minutes, after which he briefly addressed the press.

Hughes and Galindo were among the survivors of the Bataclan attack, in which three militants from the Islamic State terror group used Kalashnikov rifles.

Galindo said in court that he has not been the same since the night of the attack and that he had to undergo psychological therapy.EFE
