Gunmen Barricades Themselves Inside Warehouse After Shootout with Southaven Police

SOUTHAVEN, MS (FOX 13 News) — Two gunmen barricaded themselves inside of a warehouse in Southaven after a shootout with police, according to the Southaven Police Department (SPD).
SPD said two men wanted for auto burglary and attempting to take away a motor vehicle were running from Horn Lake Police in a grey Nissan Nissan Altima when the thieves ran over stop sticks near DeSoto Road.
Running on flat tires, the two men drove north onto Horn Lake Road and then eastbound on Stateline Road before hopping on I-55, SPD said.
The car then crashed on I-55 and hit the median, leading police to shut down lanes of the interstate as officers swarmed the car, according to police.
That’s when the two men jumped out, ran across the interstate and fired shots at officers, Southaven Police said.
SPD said that officers returned fire and that no officers were hit.
The two men gunmen then barricaded themselves inside of a warehouse on Hamilton Road.
FOX13 crews at the scene of that barricade situation saw SWAT team members and an armored tank outside of the warehouse.

El SPD dijo que dos hombres buscados por robo de auto huían de la policía de Horn Lake en un Nissan Altima gris cuando los ladrones pasaron por una valla con púas en DeSoto Road.
Con neumáticos pinchados, los dos hombres condujeron hacia el norte por Horn Lake Road y luego hacia el este por Stateline Road antes de saltar a la carretera I-55, dijo SPD.
