Latin America’s largest ferris wheel opens in Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo, Dec 8 (EFE).- Sao Paulo on Thursday inaugurated the largest ferris wheel in Latin America from which visitors can appreciate the immensity of the Brazilian megalopolis.

Baptized as Roda Rico, the new tourist attraction is 91 meters high, occupies an area of 4,500 square meters in the Cândido Portinari Park and opens to the public on Friday.

Each of its 42 cabins has capacity for eight people and is equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and even Bluetooth so that visitors can ride listening to the soundtrack of their choice, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

The ride lasts 25-30 minutes, costs between 25 and 79 reais (about $5-$15) and small or medium-sized pets are also allowed.

Tickets can be purchased through the Sympla platform, with the possibility of reserving an entire booth for 350 reais ($67).

Sao Paulo is the largest city in Brazil, with an estimated population of 12.3 million people, and stands out for its cultural and gastronomic diversity. EFE
