Sports Desk, Oct 10 (EFE).- Brazilian star Neymar said in comments published Sunday that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be his last.
“I think it is my last World Cup because I do not know if I have the strength of mind to deal with football anymore,” the Brazil captain, who turns 30 next year, said in the DAZN documentary “Neymar & The Line Of Kings.”
DAZN posted excerpts from the documentary on Sunday.
“So, I’ll do everything to turn up well, do everything to win with my country, to realize my greatest dream since I was little, and I hope I can do it,” Neymar said.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker has been to two World Cups.
In 2014, when Brazil hosted the tournament, he suffered an injury in the quarterfinal that kept him out of the semifinal where Germany embarrassed the Canarinha 7-1.
Four years later in Russia, Brazil was knocked out in the round of 16. EFE jjl/ta/dr
