Passenger plane carrying 132 people crashes in southern China

Beijing, Mar 21 (EFE).- A passenger plane with 132 people onboard crashed in southern China Monday, the national aviation administration and state news reported.

The number of casualties is not yet known.

The China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 came down in Guangxi province during its journey from Kunming to Guangzhou, CCTV reported.

Rescue teams have been deployed to the mountainous area, where the crash caused a fire in the surrounding forest, state media added.

The China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 was scheduled for a flight time of one hour and 40 minutes.
