Russian invasion largely stalled on all fronts: UK

London, March 17 (EFE).- The Russian invasion of Ukraine has “largely stalled on all fronts”, according to the latest intelligence update published Thursday by the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense.

The report shared on the ministry’s social media channels said “Russian forces have made minimal progress on land, sea or air in recent days and they continue to suffer heavy losses” in Ukraine.

“Ukrainian resistance remains staunch and well-coordinated. The vast majority of the Ukrainian territory, including all major cities, remains in Ukrainian hands,” the statement added.

In an update published on Wednesday, UK Defense analysts said invading Russian forces were encountering problems in overcoming the challenges posed by Ukraine’s terrain.

According to British intelligence data, Russia’s advance in Ukraine has been blocked by a lack of maneuverability forcing Russia to rely mainly on Ukraine’s road network which has been hampered by the destruction of bridges.

“The tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have adeptly exploited Russia’s lack of maneuver, frustrating Russia’s advance and inflicting heavy losses on the invading forces,” Defense Intelligence added. EFE
