Sabalenka, Swiatek through to 4th round as Muguruza crashes out
London, Jul 2 (EFE).- Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka qualified for the Wimbledon 4th round after beating Colombian Maria Camila Osorio 6-0, 6-3 on Friday.
The number two seed crushed the young Osorio, who surprised observers by making it this far having never previously won a match on grass.
Elsewhere in the third round, seventh seed Iga Swiatek, who won the French Open in May, made light work of Irina Camelia-Begu, beating the unseeded Romanian 6-1, 6-0.
Spain’s Garbine Muguruza suffered a surprise defeat, with the 11th seed and former Wimbledon and French Open champion losing out to Tunisia’s 20th seed Ons Jabeur 7-5, 3-6, 2-6. EFE
