MPD identify the person responsible for the shooting at a business

MEMPHIS, TN (MPD) — On Saturday, November 25, 2023, around 12:00 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault at the 4600 block of Poplar Avenue. Officers were advised that a black male broke into a Dodge Charger in the business’s parking lot. The victim alerted the suspect and began recording him on his cellular phone. The suspect turned and then fired shots at him. The suspect in the photos is the person responsible for shooting at the victim. Gunfire struck the business, with several victims inside.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Carye Humphrey. A warrant has been issued for his arrest charging him with Aggravated Assault (6X), Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, and Theft of a Firearm less than $2,500.00
