Woman Dies After Being Shot Inside Car Near Cordova, Police Determine Shooting To Be ‘Accidental’

MEMPHIS, TN (ABC 24 News) — According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), a shooting that left a woman dead near Cordova on Tuesday was determined to be accidental.
Police said they responded to a shooting call at the Wolfchase Target around 7:45 p.m. They said the shooting did not happen at the Target, but the man in the car drove to the Target parking lot after the woman was shot.
A woman was injured, and she was taken to St. Francis in critical condition. She later died, according to MPD.
Police said they do not know where the actual shooting happened. According to MPD, the woman was in the car with her 3-year-old son and man, and was shot from inside the car. At this time, police said they’re still working to determine who shot her.
