Israel PM Bennett tests positive for Covid-19

Jerusalem, Mar 28 (EFE).- Israel’s prime minister Naftali Bennett Monday tested positive for Covid-19, his office said in a statement.

Bennett is feeling well and will continue to work from home, it added.

On Sunday, the prime minister met with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken who attended meetings with Israeli foreign minister Yair Lapid, defense minister Benny Gantz and foreign ministers from Bahrain, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.

If Blinken tests positive for Covid-19, he will have to self-isolate in Israel for at least five days.

Bennett also met with top security personnel Sunday after an incident in Hadera in which two Israelis were killed and another 10 injured.

Israel Police Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai also tested positive for the virus Monday. EFE
