UK to reopen embassy in Kyiv, PM Johnson announces

New Delhi, Apr 22 (EFE).- The United Kingdom will reopen its embassy in Kyiv next week, prime minister Boris Johnson told a press conference Friday during his official visit to India.

The British Conservative Party leader said the move was made possible thanks to the “extraordinary fortitude and success” of Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people in resisting Russia’s military in the Kyiv region.

“I want to pay tribute to those British diplomats who remained elsewhere in the region throughout this period,” he added at a media briefing in New Delhi.

The British embassy, like many international diplomatic missions in Ukraine, was reduced and relocated following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in late February. EFE
