Wijnaldum, Depay lead Netherlands 3-0 over North Macedonia

Sports Desk, Jun 21 (EFE).- The duo of Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay led the Netherlands to a 3-0 win Monday over North Macedonia as the Dutch eased into the round of 16 at Euro 2020 as winners of Group C.

The Netherlands, who has already secured the top spot, got off to a good start as Depay made the most of Donyell Malen’s low cross inside the area to draw the first blood in the 24th minute.

It was in the 51st minute that a poorly-marked Wijnaldum scored the first of his brace, tapping in a low cross from Depay.

Seven minutes later, Wijnaldum struck again when he put home the rebound after goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski saved an effort from Depay.
