White Station Retail Project Set to Break Ground This Summer

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/Memphis Business Journal) — Gill Properties Inc. se está preparando para comenzar este verano en un proyecto de locales comerciales de 27.000 pies cuadrados que se ha planeado durante los últimos dos años.

Brown Gill, ejecutivo de Gill, dijo que el interés que ha recibido por el proyecto ha sido “abrumador”, especialmente desde el anuncio de que el cercano Racquet Club se volvería a desarrollar. MEMPHIS, TN (Memphis Business Journal) — Gill Properties Inc. is preparing to break ground this summer on a 27,000-square-foot retail project it’s had planned for the last couple of years.

Located on the west side of White Station Road near Poplar Avenue, the development will stretch across the five parcels between the Orion Federal Credit Union and the Girl Scouts Heart of the South Council Headquarters.

Gill executive Brown Gill said the interest he’s received on the project has been “overwhelming” — especially since the announcement that the nearby Racquet Club would be redeveloped. He expects to start signing leases soon, once he knows how much construction will cost.

Gill said he’s received calls from people wanting to buy part of the site. Either through selling or leasing, he said some of the site’s future users could be office tenants.

“I’d love to have office on part of the site and retail on part,” he said.

Gill Properties bought the parcels in March for a combined $1.86 million. Brown Gill said he’s finalizing the engineering and architecture, so he can start pricing it out to contractors soon.

The land purchase was financed by Bank3, which is headquartered a block south of the project. Thoda and Associates, which is headquartered around the corner on Wheelis Drive, is now the architect on the project.
