Residents Turn to City Officials to Remove Junked Tires from Side of the Road

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/WMC) — Los residentes exigen respuestas después de que más de 100 llantas se tiraron a lado de la carretera.

Hasta el momento, se han contabilizado 107 llantas frente a los apartamentos Fox Hollow, cada una de ellas apiladas cuidadosamente contra la cerca.

“Es un insulto … para mí y para el resto de los residentes de aquí, porque muchos de nosotros trabajamos duro y no queremos venir aquí a esto”, dijo el residente Ernest Beasley.

Patricia Rogers, activista comunitaria, dijo que no vio los neumáticos el domingo cuando fue a su iglesia cercana.

“El lunes, conduje por Winchester Road. Me sorprendió. Hice una vuelta en U, regresé y tomé algunas fotos”, dijo Rogers.

Los neumáticos parecen ser neumáticos de chatarra no adecuados para poner en los vehículos.

“No quiero ver eso. Eso destruye a la comunidad”, dijo Beasley.

So far, 107 tires have been counted in front of the Fox Hollow Apartments, each of them stacked up neatly against the fence.

“It’s very insulting .. to me and all the rest of the residents over here, because a lot of us, we work hard and we don’t want to come here to this,” said resident Ernest Beasley.

Patricia Rogers, a community activist, said she did not see the tires on Sunday when she went to her nearby church.

“On Monday, I drove down Winchester Road. I was shocked. I made a u-turn and came back and took some photos,” said Rogers.

The tires appear to be junk tires not suitable to put on vehicles.

“I don’t want to see that. It brings the community down, said Beasley.
