Spain captain Busquets rejoins Euro 2020 squad after negative Covid test

Las Rozas, Spain, Jun 18 (EFE).- Spain captain Sergio Busquets has returned to international duty after his latest Covid-19 test came back negative, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) said Friday.

The midfielder tested positive just days before Euro 2020 kicked off but Spain coach Luis Enrique Martínez kept him on the team sheet.

The Barcelona player returned to the national team camp in Las Rozas, on the outskirts of Madrid, on Friday morning and will travel with the squad to Seville, southern Spain, for the upcoming Group C game against Poland.

Spain’s youthful side managed a 0-0 draw with Sweden in their opening Euro 2020 game on Monday, despite dominating in possession and having 17 attempts on goal, five of which were on target. EFE
