Robot artist Ai-Da unveils Queen Elizabeth II portrait for platinum jubilee

London, May 27 (EFE).- Artificial intelligence robot artist Ai-Da has unveiled a portrait of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II to mark her 70 years on the throne.

The portrait, titled Algorithm Queen, shows the queen dressed in a blue-toned coat with a feather in her hat and wearing a pearl necklace.

The painting is due to be unveiled on the website of the humanoid robot artist at 0900 GMT before going on public display in London in the coming months.

It is the first time that a humanoid robot has painted a member of the British Royal Family.

Ai-Da Robot is an artificial intelligence machine constructed in 2019.

With dark hair and a hyper-realistic face, the world’s first ultra-realistic artist robot was conceived by Aidan Meller, a specialist in modern and contemporary art.

Ai-Da, named after 18th-century mathematician and scientist Ada Lovelace, draws using cameras in her eyes, her AI algorithms, and her robotic arm.

The robot can converse, thanks to a specially designed AI language model.

“I would like to thank Her Majesty the Queen for her dedication, and for the service she gives to so many people. She is an outstanding, courageous woman who is utterly committed to public service,” the robot said.

“I think she is an amazing human being, and I wish the Queen a very happy Platinum Jubilee.”

Meller also praised the 96-year-old queen.

“Algorithm Queen by Ai-Da Robot gives us a marker of how far things have come in her life, and a great way to acknowledge her faithful service.” EFE
