MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/WMC) — Se encontraron huesos dentro de una pared en Earnestine and Hazel’s. “Empezábamos a tumbar la pared. Algunas cosas empezaron a caer y los huesos fue lo que notamos”, dijo Chris Tigner, vicepresidente de Diversified Builders. Su equipo está haciendo reparaciones al edificio e hizo el descubrimiento.

Earnestine and Hazel’s es un sitio en el centro de Memphis, ubicado en South Main y G.E. Patterson. El edificio, de más de 100 años, tiene bastante historia y está encantado. Arriba es donde se lleva a cabo la mayor parte de ese tipo de acción, con máquinas de discos que se encienden sin ninguna razón, un piano que suena cuando nadie lo está tocando.

El edificio comenzó como una iglesia en 1906, luego fue una lavandería, una farmacia, un club de jazz para alquilar. “We started taking it apart. Some things were starting to fall out to the walls and the bones is what we noticed.” Chris Tigner, Vice president of Diversified Builders, said. His team is making repairs to the building and made the discovery.

Somehow word got out a body was found and police and fire showed up. There was no body, but there were bones in a wall that was opened up.

Earnestine and Hazel’s is a fixture in downtown Memphis on South Main and G.E. Patterson. The building, more than 100 years, old has quite the history, sordid and haunted. Upstairs is where most of that kind of action takes place, with jukeboxes that just turn on for no reason, a piano that plays when no one is playing it.

The building started out as a church in 1906, then a sundry, a pharmacy, a jazz club rooms for rent. The story is those rooms were rented by ambitious ladies of the night. One story, a prostitute was either pushed or jumped out of a second floor window. Now she is said to haunt people, but only men.

The owners of Earnestine and Hazel’s knew the building was in bad shape so the problems are being fixed but the look is not changing. The work should be finished in 6 to 8 weeks. The back of Earnestine Hazel’s is open for business now.

As for the bones, a doctor is trying to find out what kind of bones they are.
